Unraveling the Narrative of Purity Culture: a 6-Week Writing & Support Group
This group is for you if you're seeking an affirming space to process the messages, shame, and confusion from purity culture. Through writing, breakout groups, and supportive group discussion, we’ll unpack the broader narrative of purity culture and reimagine a new way of relating to your body, sexuality, pleasure, and more.
This is a space to be curious and gentle with yourself while connecting with others who have similar lived experiences and understanding. Doubt, grief, and anger all have a place here as you move toward a renewed sense of connection to your mind and body.
Writing experience is not required—just a willingness to explore your lived experiences through reflection, writing, and community. Sharing your writing is always optional and will often happen in pairs or small groups and primarily intended to support personal processing and reflection. The group will also integrate somatic tools to support grounding and embodiment.
This group might be for you if:
You were raised in a religious or cultural environment that emphasized purity culture and are now questioning or healing from those messages.
You’re exploring how purity culture has impacted your relationship with your body, sexuality, gender, identity, or self-worth.
You’re deconstructing beliefs around sex, modesty, and morality and want space to do so without shame.
You want to connect with others who understand the unique grief, confusion, or anger that can follow after leaving purity culture.
You’re looking for a supportive space to share your experiences with folks who have similar lived experience.
