Purity Culture Recovery, High-Control Religion & Queerness

This workshop is for you if you're seeking an affirming space to learn more about the psychological impact of the purity culture movement and the unique impact on queer folks who have lived experience in high-control religious contexts.

This workshop will provide psychoeducation, group discussion, writing and reflection time, along with an introduction to strategies and practices to support healing from high-control messages about sex, identity, and pleasure for those in the LGBTQIA+ community.

The group will also integrate somatic tools to support grounding and embodiment and you’ll leave feeling more connected to yourself, others, and strategies to support your individual recovery process.

You’ll also receive a digital workbook to support the meeting’s activities and processing after the workshop.

Please note this is a workshop and not a therapy group. If interested in purity-culture group work, you can review current offerings here.
