Navigating Disenfranchised Grief: A 6-Week Expressive Writing & Support Group

This group is for you if you're seeking a compassionate and supportive space to express and process experiences of disenfranchised grief—particularly grief that others might not recognize, understand, or validate. This could be related to a friend break-up, the death of a pet, a significant life transition, loss of a job, the impact of the political landscape, climate crisis, and more.

Using writing, small group sharing, and group discussion, you’ll experience an environment of support and a container for your grief process.

No prior writing experience is needed—just a willingness to show up, reflect, and connect with others who have similar experiences. Sharing your writing is always optional, and when shared, it will often be in pairs to foster a sense of connection with others. Writing in this group is intended to serve as a tool for your personal processing and exploration.

This group might be for you if:

You want a supportive community to process feelings, losses, and questions surrounding difficult, unacknowledged grief—such as the grief of estranged relationships, identity changes, or unreached life milestones.

  1. You're searching for a way to make sense of and heal from grief that feels invisible to others, whether due to cultural, societal, or relational factors.

  2. You wish to connect with others who understand the complex emotions tied to disenfranchised grief, offering empathy and support through shared experiences.

  3. You’re curious about how expressive writing can guide you on a journey of self-discovery and healing as you navigate nuanced, often hidden grief.

  4. You’re seeking a space that encourages transformation, offering writing and reflection as a means to foster resilience, process loss, and rediscover meaning.

  5. You want to connect with like-minded individuals who are learning to find strength and renewal in their grief journey, transforming unspoken losses into growth and resilience.

Grad Student Support Group: An 8-Week Support Group for Therapists-in-Training

Graduate school is a profound—and often exhausting—experience. It stretches you emotionally, mentally, and physically, and at times, it can feel nearly impossible to juggle it all and still be a whole human being.

This group is intended to be a supportive container while you move through school, explore how you want to show up in your clinical work, and reconnect with who you are outside of it—as a person, not just a student or future therapist.

Together, we’ll unpack things like imposter syndrome, intentional self-care, and the everyday challenges of grad school and internship life while navigating the distress of the current political climate, the strain of capitalism, climate crisis, and more.

You'll have space to share what’s coming up for you in the process, feel understood, and be supported in community as you prepare to move into your career.

There will be a mix small breakout groups with larger group discussions to foster deeper connection and collaboration along the way.

This group might be for you if:

  • You're looking for a supportive, nonjudgmental space to process the emotional and logistical weight of graduate school.

  • You want to explore imposter syndrome and build confidence in your ability to hold space and create safety in the therapy room.

  • You’re craving a sense of community with others who get it—the overwhelm, the uncertainty, and the passion that brought you here.

  • You’re seeking connection with future colleagues while navigating the complexities of this moment and how politics and the climate crisis may be impacting you as both a person and healer.

  • You want room to reflect on your evolving therapist identity and the human behind the role.

  • You're interested in cultivating self-care practices that feel sustainable and rooted in your actual needs—not just another task on your to-do list.

  • You’re curious about how to stay grounded in your values as you learn, grow, and prepare to enter the field.

Associate Therapist Support Group: An 8-Week Support Group for Pre-licensed Clinicians

The journey toward licensure is both meaningful and demanding. As an associate therapist, you’re navigating the realities of clinical work, supervision, and the emotional toll of holding space for others while also navigating the current political moment, the strain of capitalism, climate crisis, and more.

It’s a lot, and it can be hard to find spaces that honor both your development as a therapist and your humanity.

This group is designed as a supportive container for pre-licensed associates to process the challenges of early-career clinical work, explore who you are inside and outside the therapy room, and connect with others walking a similar path. Whether you're wrestling with imposter syndrome, seeking more sustainable self-care, or simply craving community with others who understand the nuances of this phase—you’re not alone.

Together, we’ll hold space for the messy, beautiful, and deeply human process of being a therapist. There will be a mix small breakout groups with larger group discussions to create space for connection, conversation, and support.

This group might be for you if:

  • You’re seeking connection with colleagues while navigating the complexities of this moment and how politics and the climate crisis may be impacting you as both a person and healer.

  • You want to explore how imposter syndrome might be showing up in your work with clients and impacting your confidence.

  • You’re craving a sense of community with others in the field who get it—the overwhelm, the uncertainty, and the passion that brought you to this work.

  • You want room to reflect on your evolving therapist identity and the human behind the role.

  • You're interested in exploring self-care practices that feel sustainable and rooted in your needs and values.
