Disenfranchised Grief Writing & Support Group for Therapists
This group is for you if you're seeking a supportive space to express and process experiences of disenfranchised grief—particularly grief that others might not recognize, understand, or validate because it may not be a death loss. Or, losses that are connected to the unique therapeutic space you offer as a clinician and systemic factors impacting the nature of the field.
Whether it's a friend break-up, the death of a pet, a significant life transition, or a loss that can occur as part of being in a helping profession—it all belongs.
Using writing, small group sharing, and group discussion, you’ll experience an environment of support and a relational container for your grief.
No prior writing experience is needed—just a willingness to show up, reflect, and connect with others who have similar experiences. Sharing your writing is always optional, and when shared, it will often be in pairs to foster a sense of safety and intimacy. Writing in this group is primarily for your personal processing and exploration.
This group might be for you if:
1. You want a supportive community to process feelings, losses, and questions surrounding difficult, unacknowledged grief—such as the grief of estranged relationships, identity changes, or unreached life milestones.
2. You're searching for a way to make sense of and heal from grief that feels invisible to others, whether due to cultural, societal, or relational factors—or the consistent weight and rush of Capitalism.
3. You wish to connect with others who understand the unique experience of supporting others while holding your own hurt and pain.
4. You’re curious about how expressive writing can guide you on a journey of self-discovery and healing as you navigate nuanced, often hidden grief.
