High-Control Religion and Purity Culture Recovery:
Enhance Your Connection to Self & Others

Relational and Experiential Psychotherapy and Sex Therapy in Portland,Oregon
(Statewide in Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington)

Heal Through Connection and Community

I offer holistic psychotherapy and mental health support to folks based in Oregon, Colorado, Idaho, and Washington. I believe that healing happens both in the therapy room, but also in connection to others and our community.

For those who have experienced religious trauma or emotional harm from high-control systems or significant interpersonal relationships, it can feel overwhelming to ask for help. You’ve probably learned to over-function, people-please, or appease in your communities, families, or past relationships.

And, you might be ready for something to change.

Who I Work With

I work with individuals, couples, and groups who have experienced hurt in high-control religious communities or in homes with emotionally immature caregivers and are seeking to live more connected to themselves, their heart, their bodies, and to all those they are in relationship with—platonically, romantically, and in community.

I also offer relational and couples therapy that offers unique support for relationships impacted by spiritual abuse, sexual trauma, purity culture, or other ways involvement in high-control groups might be serving as a barrier to intimacy, emotional connection, trust, and other issues.

Intensive formats are available and can be a great alternative for more-focused and time-limited work.

My Approach

My therapeutic work is grounded in a relational and psychodynamic approach. I show up as a human with you in the room, not as as blank slate. We consider how the past is showing up in the present moment and how various systems like Capitalism and Patriarchy impact what it means to be in connection to self and others.

I offer EMDR and integrate other somatic and experiential modalities such as AEDP, IFS, and Somatic Experiencing tools to support a deep work. t

These modalities are intended to support folks who might identify as intellectualizers, perfectionists, or high-achievers get to the root of what's not working and have reparative relational experiences to heal past hurt.I also offer sex therapy and EMDR therapy and intensives to support deeper work related to purity culture recovery and sexual trauma.

It can feel daunting and scary to reconsider your beliefs to let go of the strategies that have helped you survive. Whether you’re leaving a religious tradition or navigating the impact of relational hurt, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
